Here’s the deal: Spike has drastically worked on their award show formula and have improved it greatly. They still need to limit the geek squad’s acceptance speeches somewhat, but that’s a small cavat compared to now having a formula. A funny and capable host (Jack Black presided over the preceedings), hot music (All-American Rejects, Weezer, 50 Cent and G-Unit) and hot chicks (and this is personal opinion but Marisa Miller totally bodied Megan Fox! Wasn’t even close. And that ain’t easy seeing how Megan is “the woman men want more than anyone else on the planet” chick right now. Yeah, she had a helluva 2008…)

Still, they didn’t need two hours and I didn’t agree with all the award winners. I personally thought MGS IV should’ve been game of the year but I did understand why it fell out the way it did….

Okay, enough about that. Let’s get back to those premieres. They came fast and furious. Plus, if you’re a gamer, it was geeked out heaven. Personally, God of War got me stoked the most with Uncharted 2 running a close second. The two main surprises for me was Watchmen and Dante’s Inferno. Both games look properly sick and the Watchmen game should be a monster…
